         办学理念    

        在一个很少有使用机会的语言环境下,中文学习不能遵循国内的教学模式。同样也不能单纯追求认字数量,冒进式地强行提升识字量,这种行为短期有效,长期则有害,彻底毁掉了孩子们对中文残存的些许兴趣,从此导致“望文生惧”。星星学堂坚持以兴趣为引导,以传统文化为线索,生字、成语、习语、典故等等齐头并进,整体提高学生的学习积极性与中文素养。具体来说,坚持以下教学理念:

 

        兴趣第一,快乐学习

        汉语不再是枯燥的说教,在星星学堂,孩子们会兴趣盎然地去学习,不知不觉中学会了汉字,明白了成语故事背后的道理。对汉语知识不抗拒,慢慢变得喜欢,然后觉得有用,最终家长们会惊喜的发现,孩子们进超市、去商场、看菜单时,看到汉字开始主动去认读了,得到鼓励后积极性反而得到进一步提高。

       

        学习中文,从身边开始

        我们精心设计的课程内容,涵盖了日常生活中的饮食起居、交通出行、人与自然等方方面面。每一个汉字都来自于日常的生活学习,当这些汉字或者其对应的事物再现时,给了孩子们大量的机会去认读,一次次的刷新孩子们记忆。并且我们的每一个汉字都对应漂亮、直观的图画,很容易让孩子们由具体的“物”联想到所学知识。可以说,以生活为中心的教学内容和情景设计,让生活本身成了天然的中文教科书。

  

         提升阅读能力,学习汉语的第一高地      

        学以致用,在学生们掌握了一定数量的常用字词之后,逐渐介入阅读训练。这种初级阅读开始时可能仅仅是购物中心里一则销售玩具的中文广告,或者是餐馆里的菜单,这样循序渐进的训练,孩子们可以读懂一篇简单课文,慢慢地会背诵一些文章,接着可以读长一些的文章。如此这样发展下去,孩子们通过汉语作为工具获取知识的能力逐渐增强。


        We developedour own ideas and methodologies of teaching based on the experience of 10 y ears’ teaching Chinese tostudents from different countries and backgrounds. Since the opening ofoverseas Chinese classes, we have adhered to the small-class teaching, which isdeeply loved by Canadian students. We offer both classroom teaching, as well asonline classes which are offered to students from all over the world.   Our pedagogy is centered by "SituationalReading Method"   which is an proveneffective method in leaning Chinese especially for those whose first languageis not Chinese. We developed   our owntextbooks Situational Reading to LearnChinese Series. The textbooks are divided into three volumes. From beginnerlevel to advance level,   we have special step-by -step training through essay reading - the target vocabulary practice – situationalstory teaching - strengthening training - Chinese knowledge learning . Personalizedstories and reading materials are used innovatively during class. Based on this,various situational activities are organized.   In this flexible, simulative and enjoyable learning environment, studentsnot only learn and master the Chinese words, but also develop their communicativelanguage ability. It is our ultimate goal to let students recognize andunderstand Chinese characters through reading, discover and use Chinese indaily life, apply what they have learned to practice, and enhance theirconfidence in Chinese.
